I love this time of year when the Sculptures line the Esplanade. My first visit was mid morning but nearly 33°. Hopefully there will be a couple of cooler days and maybe a sunset for some more photo opportunities.
First 2 days of January I got in the sea at Brighton/Seacliff for walking, exercises and swim. Saturday was scorching hot, grey and humid and the sea was calm but the water felt cold. Sunday was a different story. Blue skies, a few degrees cooler, lots of waves but lovely warm water.
This year, as always, we spent the evening at the Oval watching the Strikers. A tiny crowd because of current Covid status. We were in a 'pod' which holds 600 with just 11 others (including 2 camera men) Sadly the Strikers lost but we enjoyed the fireworks and were home by eleven to see the new year in with a G&T while watching the Sydney extravaganza
