Fast Start, The End

Image
Tomorrow is my last day on Fast Start and I've had mixed results. I've lost a slightly disappointing 3kg.  (Might have been 4 if I hadn't had 3 days 'off plan' on holiday. That little gain even though I was careful, took 3 weeks to go) The good thing is the scales have moved down a notch (permanently I hope) and I'm back weighing and tracking regularly. Just about to say goodbye to the 93s.... hopefully for good. After suspending my membership for 3 months I'll be back to the gym after Easter and, when the weather's fine I hope to be more regular with #mydailywalk So, was Fast Start worth it for such a small return? A resounding YES. It may not be as much as I'd hoped for but it's got my head in the right place, cemented good habits and I have a new determination to succeed I know Units are important on TWD but I seem to be one of those rare people who find that calories actually DO matter. I lost steadily on 5000kjs (1200 calories) but struggle

What a week!

It's been a week of music and singing. Rehearsal Tuesday, concert performance Wednesday and coaching from Lea Baker last night.... phew It can get a bit hectic singing with Allsorts and Onkaparinga Harmony but such fun too. Wednesday's concert with Marion City Band was challenging. We sang a set of 4 Barbershop and a cappella songs and a 'Sanskrit Chorale' as a backing to John Williams Star Wars music ... Copy and paste this to hear a piano version on YouTube  https://youtu.be/snfsc7pEzlk The Phantom Menace Suite.  Korah matah korah rahtahma. Nyohah keelah korah rahtahma, syadho keelah danya rahtahma Nice to get back to a million dreams and I see the light again...  much more melodic.

Symphony and Stirling

Spent an enjoyable morning at Aberfoyle Park community centre for a concert by the the ASO Headed to Stirling for a walk round Woorabinda Lake in Stirling but surprised to see so many trees gave fallen in recent storms. Very different view as you come down the hill and parts of the boardwalk have had to be replaced. Not so many fairy wrens today but kookaburras were noisy. Fascinating to see turtles climbing logs.

Long Weekend

Image
After a cloudy few days in the Barossa I was looking forward to some time in the sun...  Foiled again. Spent all of Saturday prepping for a CWA Craft Day and on Sunday Clive was at Happy Valley Bowling Club 40th Birthday bash. I popped in for a while but not invited to lunch so made do with leftovers at home. Finally got out for a while for a hotcross bun gin, lunch and coffee at McLaren Vale Visitors Centre on Monday. Missed a great sunset while stuck indoors...  again, bingeing TV. Getting quite Autumnal now. Tuesday's class was a disaster. I'd prepped for at least 12. One came late and two more ambled in 40 minutes later. This was the final straw and I will probably be handing in my notice soon. Extremely pissed off for the rest of the day. At least I had some fun with Allsorts in the evening but still in a black mood. Fast Start kick started my weight loss but the holiday meant a small gain which refuses to budge at the moment. I'm sure it works for many and the first t

West Lakes and the Port

Image
A quick trip to Crows headquarters to sort out a membership issue and to get Clive a new hat. Watched the boys training too. Foggarty on form and good to see Rory Sloane back but Crouch took a knock and was limping badly. Nice lunch in West Lakes then a meandering walk around the Port to see 'Wonderwalls' followed by a quick well earned rest and #coffeeoclock at Swedish Tarts.

Final night in Barossa

Went out for a meal in the wine bar in Angaston and who should be sitting in the corner but Doreen and Val. They're here for the CWA Conference and were heading home tomorrow.

Barossa day 3

Image
Final day in the Barossa visiting the Whispering Wall to test the acoustics. Found a delightful back road that brought us to the pretty 1847 Chateau. Maggie Beers Farmhouse Shop for a light lunch and walk round the lake then back to a much drier Seppeltsfield. Bought some goodies at Vasse Virgin and admired the art at the Jam Factory. Finally popped into Wolf Blass for a picture opportunity (cellar door closed)..... 150% #mydailywalk
