Musical weekend

Image
This weekend was region 34 (Australia) Sweet Adelines singing Festival. We've been unable to have our annual competition since Hobart, 2019 so this was our first time singing togetherin over 3 years. As many choirs and quartets were unable to travel from interstate, so we submitted video performances (recorded on the day or previously) In addition we had jazz and blues workshops led by Gospo Collective, a visit from the Festival Statesmen, Star Chorus (singing our theme song, Happy Together), Bevies and Barbershop party with a 'pub choir' sing led by Alex Morris. Took advantage of the Autumn sunshine and headed to McLaren Vale for lunch, gin tasting and a chance to take some more pictures. Good walk at Southport and Noarlunga Jetty.

Port and Peninsular

Wandered over to the Northwest of the City to find the Peninsular hotel hoping for coffee at the Port on the way. Sadly our favourite coffee shop was closed, and, as it was late we went on to Taparoo for lunch. It's a quirky place with American Diner/Miami Beach vibe. Delicious lunch and 20% senior discount Had a walk on Semaphore Jetty and Esplanade, taking advantage of the nice warm sunshine and blue skies on the way home
