Wine Centre and Gardens

Had a delightful lunch at the wine Centre followed by a circular walk round the Botanic Gardens

Tenacity Jane

Image
You've heard of Calamity Jane ..... well I'm Tenacity Jane! Spare a thought for us tortoises... 100g a week is my average, 200g a good week, 300g amazing, 500g a miracle!  I've found ways to stay motivated and grateful, so I'm happy that another 200g has gone after stalling last week. Back to the gym now so hope to see some more improvement soon.

Wittunga wander

Started the day with breakfast at Lennox Avenue as my faulty phone was fixed with a reboot and didn't need repairing after all So lucky to have these gardens so close to home. The shorter circuit round the main lake is around 3000 steps and not too challenging. Parked on the back road to avoid the Shepherds Hill traffic as more parking space.  Lovely bright autumn day may the colours zing and its always so relaxing watching the ducks and turtles.

Back to the gym

Finally got back to AEP for a one on one review and new exercise program. Trying the pilates reformer for a change. Should improve my core strength and balance but ..... My Physiologist gave me some extra exercises on the pilates reformer in addition to leg presses, extensions and curls. The scooter with tipping forward to help my balance was OK. but I've discovered some new muscles while trying to control a bridge on a moving platform. (My bum hurts) Needed to walk the stiffness off so tried an evening sunset walk at Brighton. Not spectacular but still quite impressive and a lively mild evening.

Gather Round

Image
Well, it's been full on Footie here with all round five matches being played in Adelaide .... including Norwood and Mount Barker.  The Swans had a larger crowd at the 'neutral' Oval than they do for their home matches at the SCG! Mount Barker welcomed the Brisbane Lions for the first major AFL game in the Adelaide Hills and did us proud. Crows opening the proceedings with a fabulous unexpected win (and the Port scraped home last night). Clive's off to a double header at the Oval today so it's going to be a long day as our Bunnings BBQ was cancelled due to double booking. Time to catch up on some other TV and also do some singing practice. It's been a great event which has really put SA on the map. The City was packed out and there's such a buzz about the place and a real holiday atmosphere. We've had many visitors from interstate and it feels like 'finals' day with a brilliant carnival vibe. Apart from heavy rain on Saturday night (a remnant of r

Quiet Easter

Image
A very quiet one this year with some serious gardening, lots of rain, no visit from the Easter bunny and a catch up with Alison  After the last few hectic weeks it was good to chill out for a change. The recent holiday and non existant 'extras' kept the weight slowly decreasing and looking forward to getting back to the gym again. It's easy to hibernate when winter comes but making the most of a reasonable Autumn so far. It is time to catch some glorious colours, if the weather holds and strong winds from the northerly cyclones keep away, before winter sets in

All's well that ends well.

Had a brilliant short break in Normanville with fantastic accommodation, lots to see and do and a touch of well needed Indian Summer. Have come back refreshed and relaxed. No significant weight gain this time.  Left after a leisurely breakfast on the balcony and stopped for a short #mydailywalk at Myponga Reservoir before heading across Pages Flat for a much needed #coffeeoclock at the Golden Fleece in Willunga. Even had time to stock up on fruit and veg for Easter at Hilltop Fruit shop. Grey skies rolling in now, unpacked, washing done and time to catch up with TV programs while Clive's at Cricket Lovers.
