Dunluce Castle

Image
Only 75% #mydailywalk and no #coffeeoclock or naughty meals out but definitely a day to reward myself and have a 'me' day for a change with my first trip with my local Community group.  We visited Dunluce Castle in Brighton and enjoyed a brilliant guided tour by the 7th and current owner, with lots of wonderful personal stories and a pictorial history presentation. (She is an 'Australian of the year for 2022' and also instigated the famous Marilyn Monroe charity swim at Brighton).

Baby birds galore

Spring chicks everywhere... Oaklands and Woorabinda this week. A cheeky pied cormorant hung around at Oaklands and 2 white ducks were attracted to Clive's laces and my feet.  Finished the morning off with a delightful lunch at Bridgewater Inn. Generous portions of excellent food at a very reasonable price, lovely staff and great ambience

Wildlife and roses

Caught the train from Tonsley to the City and tram to the Botanic Gardens.  A bit drizzly in the rose garden but sheltered in the Bi-Centennial Pavilion to see the Wildlife Photographer of the year Exhibition, curated by the Natural History Museum London.  #coffeeoclock at the kiosk. 150% #mydailywalk

Fleurieu trip

Finally the coughing lessened, I felt better and the sun was shining so off to Goolwa it was. Coffee at Bombora on the River, one of the few places open on Mondays Next it was on to the barrage for a walk. I've never seen so many seals at one time ... over 20 and 12 of them basking on the lock. Then it was time for lunch at the Hindmarsh Island Tavern. Sat outside with views over the Marina  Finished up with a walk at Horseshoe Bay and some dolphin spotting from the lookout

Still coughing

This bug I brought back from NZ is a shocker. 3 weeks of coughing, sneezing, sore throat, exhaustion and no appetite is the pits. Have been out for a few #coffeeoclocks but it's so draining. Managed half an Allsorts practice last night but after shopping on my own in the afternoon I had to lie down to recover A few days of storms and power outages made life difficult... it always seems to happen at this time of year. Weather temperatures are crazy. One minute it's 31° and humidity, the next back to 8° with gales and heavy rain .... crazy
