Some of our southern beaches have wonderful indigenous names and interesting histories P ort Willunga Beach is one Fleurieu Peninsula's most photographed beaches featuring the remains of the Port Willunga Jetty. Located approximately 35kms south of Adelaide, the beach is famous for its golden cliff faces, crystal clear waters and soft white sands Nestled on the edge of the cliff top is the Star of Greece restaurant, offering stunning views along the coast and named after a nearby shipwreck. Sections of the hull of the Star of Greece, which came to grief in 1888, remain on the ocean floor and make for a popular diving spot. At low tide parts of the wreck may still be visible from the shore. Aldinga  is an historic township, one of South Australia's best villages. From baked goods and cafes to clothing boutiques and local grocers, the strip has a great vibe. I love our little museum on North Terrace. Everything under one roof....natural history, anthropology, indigenous, and my favourite, geology. Always a fun day out and great Cafe too.  Free tram, free entrace and a great day out

It's always a pleasure to stroll round Strathalbyn. The rose gardens are looking lovely and the view of the church, rotunda and Victoria hotel are very picturesque  Discovered the Corner Bakery makes amazing chocolate eclairs.... full of fresh cream and thickly coated in yummy chocolate. Loved the motorbike statue we found while exploring some of the towns back roads On through Langhorne Creek to Milang and time to explore the old station The Crystal Lake Sculpture Park at Macclesfield on the way home was a nice surprise That éclair tasted so good, I'd eaten half before I remembered the photo!

Sometimes, when the weather is unkind I love to walk round food halls. My two favourites are Central Market and Pasadena Foodland. They are a feast for the senses!                  There's also Marion food court and Burnside if I want a change of scenery

The little Germanic town in the Adelaide Hills is certainly a tourist attraction but the Covid restrictions mean the few visitors that do come are mainly locals rather than from out of the state. We make a point of going there a couple of times a month to have coffee, lunch or to stock up on fruit and vegetables at the amazing Vegetable Market  Worth checking out some of the great vineyards for wine tasting or a choco-vino experience.
