Cruise 3 ... Perth

Image
A beautiful city, clean and safe with good free transport links around city centre. Took nearly 300 picture in 8 days as there was so much to see. Favourites included ...  Kings Park and Botanical Gardens,  Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and the Bell Tower, Optus Stadium and Maganan Bridge, the West End, Mint and the Pedestrianised shopping Centre near the station

Cruise 2 .. Busselton to Fremantle

Image
Decided to give Busselton a miss as tenders were taking ages to dock. Nice quiet day and dined at the Dragon Lady. Charlie's is a popular stop on our deck for coffee or cocktails. Even managed to fit in an evening show Caught the train to Perth then off to our hotel opposite the Arena. Dropped bags off and spent a few hours exploring via the CATs . Optus Stadium and Bridge were very impressive

Cruise 1 ... Embarkation to Albany

Image
Quick and easy check-in. Arrived early, so time for lunch and exploring the various restaurants, bars and quiet areas. Booked our table for tonight at 7.30. 3500 steps done already. Room compact but comfort Finally set foot on dry land on day 3 at Albany. A grey day but nice to stretch my legs (even if the ground is still moving!)  Plenty happening on board to keep us occupied but enjoying doing nothing.

Dare to Dream

Image
After weeks of practicing we had a rehearsal, dress rehearsal and two performances of Dare to Dream at Hallet Cove as part of the Adelaide Fringe. The show was well received by our full house audiences The finale went down well... Under the Sea!

Art styles

Image
Watercolours are safe and my 'go to' but have been exploring abstract and cubism. I quite like some of Picasso's early works and also Cezanne's landscapes but not a fan of Lichenstein's cows After my sucessful guitar I'm moving on to multicoloured cats....but my simple interpretation rather than a copy of Picassos  Makes a change from owls, wrens and NHS pen and wash vingnettes

The Cedars

Image
Had a great trip to the Cedars, home of the SA artist Hans Heysen, with the Coro Community group. A most enjoyable day with coffee and lunch. Lots of great paintings on view and the house is charming. Only a small group but we met several new friends from 'the Friendship Force'

Out 'n about

Image
Our first Covid free trip out for a while for #coffeeoclock at McLaren Vale and smoothie/juice at the Port Willy kiosk. Silver Sands was very quiet today but no energy for a walk yet. Had a relaxed drive home via Snapper Point, McLaren Flat and Clarendon.
