Stepping out in the sunshine

Took advantage of a lovely summer day and headed off to the Botanic Gardens. Parked at Tonsley and caught the train to the City.

Temperatures rose to the high 20s but lots of shady places to walk and plenty of benches to rest and admire the view.

Had pumpkin, spinach and feta frittata and a coffee for lunch at the kiosk by the lake. Tried out the 'Seeing the Invisible' .... unsuccessfully as I kept getting the same picture at different viewing points. It runs till September so maybe I'll get the hang of it before then.

This breathtaking 90 minute tour departed from the Granite Island Causeway  and 'cruised' between the mainland and the northern side of Granite Island, affording spectacular views  of both the Victor Harbor shoreline and the island. Once past the breakwater The Big Duck picked up its pace..... 25 - 30 knots even with a 2.5 - 3 metre swell! Onkaparinga River

The City of Onkaparinga is a local government area located on the southern fringe of Adelaide, South Australia. Gather Round

Well, it's been full on Footie here with all round five matches being played in Adelaide .... including Norwood and Mount Barker.  The Swans had a larger crowd at the 'neutral' Oval than they do for their home matches at the SCG! Mount Barker welcomed the Brisbane Lions for the first major AFL game in the Adelaide Hills and did us proud. Crows opening the proceedings with a fabulous unexpected win (and the Port scraped home last night). Clive's off to a double header at the Oval today so it's going to be a long day as our Bunnings BBQ was cancelled due to double booking. Time to catch up on some other TV and also do some singing practice. It's been a great event which has really put SA on the map. The City was packed out and there's such a buzz about the place and a real holiday atmosphere. We've had many visitors from interstate and it feels like 'finals' day with a brilliant carnival vibe.
