A walk on the wild side.
The SW corner of the Fleurieu is much less populated. It's an area of rolling hills, dairy and cattle farms, steep gorges and hidden beaches. Explored a few today starting at Wirrina Cove and the Marina. Nice hotel if you play golf, attend a conference, want lunch or an evening meal but no coffee stop and the Marina area has potential but looks rather sad.
Rapid Bay is great for a cheap caravanning holiday and the walk along the beach is rewarded with an amazing view from a deep cave in the cliffs. The old Jetty is broken down but still popular with scuba divers
Second Valley is beautiful and coffee and snacks available at the old caravan park. Plenty of opportune magpies too. The walkway to the little beach and island on the south side has eroded but should be replaced by next summer. Much quieter at this time of year and popular with snorklers, young families and kayakers

The memorial for two ships called Hobart offers views of the Norfolk Island pines which line the winding coast road all the way back to Normanville. Finished up with a delightful evening meal (with a drink or two) at the resort. Heading for home in the morning
