Agapanthus

Checked the radar and the worst of the rain was heading south so we made it to the Agapanthus Farm, Littlehampton for #mydailywalk. Started with a fortifying coffee from Mrs Sippy. 


Had a tasty Woodfired pizza and a Hills cider for lunch in the pavilion before a quick second circuit of these stunning gardens before the rain returned

The Journey Begins

After a couple of years of constant knee pain, I started trials with an Adelaide University looking at ways to improve my mobility and reduce pain by learning, setting and reviewing goals, doing gentle exercise and embarking on a walking programme.   My journey began in June 2021 and here I am 3 months later , much improved and sharing some of my favourite walks. Many have been done several times, others just once but hope to try again and a few I hope to attempt in the near future as my fitness levels improve. I firmly believe that OA need not end in surgery and that there are many things I can do to alleviate pain without taking medication, exercise will help not hinder progress and that this condition will not get progressively worse. I set my first goal - to walk to the Punchbowl lookout at Onkaparinga Gorge. This gently sloping walk on firm gravel takes just under an hour with photo stops and is approximately 2km long. Sunsets and songbirds

Finally getting back to regular #mydailywalk after a month of bad weather, appointments and medical procedures. A few interesting trips out too  Lunch at the Vines with the PROBUS Club and an acrylic pour art class with Shane at Pluka's Art Studio Brighton Esplanade at sundown. It's beginning to seem a lot like Christmas Festival Statesmen concert at St John's Halifax Street, a G&T at the pub and a delicious Indian meal at Raj on Taj in Hutt Street with the girls from OHC.  The borders are finally open but everyone seems cautious in the City. Laratinga Wetlands at Mount Barker for picnic lunch and walk. A warm day but the birds were in full song. Pelicans, ducklings and fairy wrens in abundance too Hallett Cove Conservation Park and seafront walk. Much quieter than Brighton tonight and very peaceful. Lovely late sunset on the way home but didn't last long

Fleurieu trip

Finally the coughing lessened, I felt better and the sun was shining so off to Goolwa it was. Coffee at Bombora on the River, one of the few places open on Mondays Next it was on to the barrage for a walk. I've never seen so many seals at one time ... over 20 and 12 of them basking on the lock. Then it was time for lunch at the Hindmarsh Island Tavern. Sat outside with views over the Marina  Finished up with a walk at Horseshoe Bay and some dolphin spotting from the lookout
