Elvis: A Musical Revolution is electrifying. The energy from the cast explodes off the stage in this wonderful homage to The King, his life and his musical legacy.


It is a brilliant homage to the life of The King. From his humble beginnings as a child in Tupelo, Mississippi through to his triumphant 1968 comeback special, this production is a celebration of one of the most influential artists to grace the world.

Rob Mallett IS the king. Playing the iconic role of Elvis Presley would be no easy feat, but Mallett has perfectly captured the complex life that Elvis led.



Vocally, the ensemble was stunning. From tight, well drilled harmonies through to brilliant solo voices — this was an exceptional ensemble. This was only topped by the way they carried out the choreography. Every big production number was packed full of energy. A standout was Blue Suede Shoes at the top of the second act where the ensemble’s energy exploded off the stage. Their character work was also excellent. Many of them jumped between several rolls.

Fast Start ... the journey begins

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and try TWD 'Fast Start'. I've been on various meal plans for over 3 years but, after a good initial loss, Covid and life in general got in the way and there's been very little progress since. My reasons for trying this? 1. I need a fresh start and new focus  2. I have upcoming surgery and need recovery time (my husband can't cook) so want to simplify things  3 As a 'Group Expert' I'd like to be better informed PREPARATION DAY and DAY ONE ... discovering the pitfalls Set up was fun. Firstly, I managed to start immediately instead of just previewing, so my first day became week 2! Next I found I'd set level 2 (much as I'd like extra milk for coffee, I certainly don't need three shakes) Then I got an email asking for my weight and picture... really? Units v calories

TWD is based on food units and discourages calorie counting for good reason..... Not all calories are equal. TWD has a large amount of food in bulk but much of it contains water and is therefore lower in calories.  Choosing just any low calorie food may mean missing out on essential nutrients and food groups (not all carbs are bad).   I've eaten a well balanced diet for over 20 years, the last 4 on TWB and this has helped lower my cholesterol, BP and HbA1c so it appears that TWD only differs in the quantity of food I'm eating. I'm still in the obese range with at least another 15kgs to lose but age, stress, medication and inactivity make this really difficult at times. Even level one appears too much for me at the moment. A few years ago I tried Light n Easy for a few months. I lost a couple of kilos in the early weeks but finished heavier than I started.
